The Initial Basic Training (IBT) program was first launched in December 2010 and received an update on January 19, 2013.
Only instructors certified in IBT and overseen by the RSA are permitted to conduct the IBT courses. These courses are designed to assist novice riders in developing fundamental riding skills and enhancing their understanding of road safety.

Couldnt recommend Mick, Gavin and Lucy highly enough. Super down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. You learn to ride a bike and have a laugh at the same time, cant get any better than that
You have the option to enter different motorcycle classifications through either direct entry or gradual progression. Direct entry occurs when you have not previously possessed a full motorcycle license in a subordinate category.
Gradual progression is relevant for categories A2 and A, indicating that you might be eligible to undergo a training program to acquire a full license for the higher motorcycle category.
Min Age 16
Two- wheeled mechanically propelled veichle, not capable of being manually propelled. The machine must have a cylinder capacity no exceeding 50cc in the case of an internal combustion engine, or a maximum continus rated power of no more than 4kW in the case of an electric motor. The vehical must have a design speed of at least 25 km/h but not more than 45 km/h
Min Age 16
A motorcycle without sidecar, with a cylinder capacity of at least 115cc and not exceding 125cc, and capable of a speed of at least 90 km/h, with and engine not exceeding 11 kW and with a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.1 kW/kg. If the motorcycle is powered by an electric motor, the power to weight ratio of the vechicle shall be at least 0.08 kW kg
Min Age 18
A motorcycle without sidecar and an engine power of at least 20kW but not exceeding 35kW and with a power to weight ratio not exceeding 0.1 kW/kg. If the motorcycle is powered by an electric motor, the power to weight ratio of the vehicle shall be at least 0.08 kW/kg
Min Age 24 (Direct Access)
Age 20 (Progressive Access From Full A2)
A motorcycle without a sidecar, with a cylinder capacity of at least 595cc, an unladen mass of more than 175kg and an engine power of at least 50kW. If the motorcycle is powered by an electric motor, the power to weight ratio of the vehicle shall be at least 0.25 kW/kg
